Keep Your Smile Healthy

Cleaning & Exams

The American Dental Association recommends visiting your dentist at least once every six months for a checkup and cleaning to keep your teeth and gums healthy. During these appointments, our experienced dental staff will capture X-rays and digital photographs of your mouth. Dr. Austin or Dr. Tatum will examine them and conduct a visual examination of your teeth and gums in search of any signs of damage or esthetic imperfections. If we spot anything, we’ll discuss our findings with you as well as some treatment options to restore your oral health. Finally, we’ll end your first visit with a thorough, professional cleaning and polishing. That way, you can leave our office feeling fresh and great!

Sparkling Clean

Our dental hygienists may use ultrasonic instruments during your teeth cleaning. These instruments use vibration and water mist to loosen and remove debris. We also use finer hand instruments to remove smaller deposits and to smooth out your tooth surfaces. To make your teeth sparkle, we will polish them with paste that comes in a variety of appealing flavors!

Oral Cancer Screening

At each of your checkups, we will conduct an oral cancer screening. For some patients, they can be life-saving. We will examine your oral cavity, throat, and lips for any signs of the disease, like red and white patches in your mouth. If we spot anything that’s out-of-the-ordinary, we’ll refer you for additional testing to make sure that you get the care you need.
